Hi Will!
It's not possible to edit hike logs yourself. We can edit them for you, however. Let me know the approximate mileage from those hikes and we can add it to your tally.

No problem, Stuart. You are allowed to summit the peaks from any trailhead you choose. The peak list suggests some of our favorites, but you are welcome to improvise. The one caveat: it should be worthy of the challenge. So driving up Diablo or Umunhum would not be in the spirit of the challenge.
Some people start with the suggested routes the first year, and then switch it up the following year. Others look try to make it extra challenging, or bag a peak as part of a multi-day backpacking trip.
Also note that the list of peaks has links to detailed trail guides for those suggested routes, and sometimes alternate routes. But consider those a starting point.
We have answers to this and other questions about the challenge in our support center.

The Railroad Grade Trail gets there from Mill Valley.

We just sent out a survey to all past and current Arizona challengers (either summer and/or winter). We're asking for feedback on which peaks YOU would like to see added to the challenge. We've picked some “finalists” and now you get to vote.
We will announce the additions for the 2023 Arizona Summer challenge later this month.

Kevin,
I've opened a support ticket to track this issue. I tested with my Android phone running the latest version of the app and I didn't have the problem you described. I think the first thing to check is that you're running the latest version. If you go to Settings > About you should see Core Version 1.8.9 and Build Version 0.1.8 (19).

Hi Diego, and welcome to the challenge!
Many people find trekking poles very useful on long hikes like those in the Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge. If you are a Costco member, they carry Cascade Mountain Tech carbon fiber trekking poles for a very good price. Once you get them, know how to adjust the height properly and use them correctly. We have some videos to help you over on our sister site SoCalHiker: Hiking with Trekking Poles.
As for other things to carry, I recommend carrying the 10 Essentials.

Hi Alexander!
First and foremost, make sure you have winter mountaineering experience. When snow is on the Mount Baldy it is not a “hike” up to the summit — it's winter mountaineering.
Being prepared for winter mountaineering means having training in snow travel; knowing how to self-arrest with an ice axe; awareness of avalanche risks and ability to detect and avoid. You'll need mountaineering boots (stiffer than regular hiking boots), crampons (not microspikes) a helmet, and an ice axe, plus the knowledge of how to use all of the above.
Personally, I also bring a satellite communicator (I use a Garmin inReach Mini) and I do not travel solo.
Be aware of your limitations, and be willing to turn around if conditions are not right. I made an attempt on Mount Rainier in 2021 (with a guide) and we made it to the Ingraham Glacier on day two, but the weather turned us around on day three (did not summit). You can't let “summit fever” drive bad decisions.
Note that you will no doubt see examples on social media of people summiting Mount Baldy without proper knowledge and or gear, and many are “successful” (i.e. “lucky”). Being lucky is not a substitute for being prepared.
Sorry to rant, but with the problems on Mount Baldy this winter, it's important to be clear that it's not a hike right now.

Pretty sure no-one has hiked all six in a week, because until 2023, these six peaks didn't have any direct relationship.
We do have an overview of the Central Coast challenge this Thursday evening at 7pm, and Curt will be there to talk about the peaks and answer questions live. You can find the details here.

Grass Mountain had been closed at the trailhead, where it passes through the private school property (the part in the National Forest was already opened). We've updated the website to reflect this. It's been a WILD year for weather, and at times challenging to keep up with all of the trail and road closures.
Likewise, Caliente Mountain is “challenging” to get to right now. There is a way, but you have to start from San Luis Obispo area and come in from the north. We're going to send out a message to all challengers with the current status, and updates as soon as roads reopen.
By the way, your photos from Grass Mountain are awesome!

Hi Lina! Thanks for the heads up. I just checked and the overview link was returning a 404. That sometimes happens when we are updating the server. The links should be working now. – Jeff

Actually, Mount Woodson (aka Potato Chip Rock) has been added to the San Diego challenge for 2023! There are seven peaks total, giving you some flexibility — you can log them all or mix-and-match six of the seven.

Hi Lorie. It was mailed last week via USPS. Watch for a large 9″ x 12″ envelope. Because of the size, they *might* take longer than a plain ol' letter, but we're at the mercy of the postal service.
This year they went out as standard first class mail (no tracking, unfortunately). The 2023 finisher packets include a pin and those will go out with tracking (we're learning 🤓).
